Ripple is set to release 1 billion XRP (worth approximately $2.5 billion) on November 1st, as per its monthly schedule. The move is part of Ripple’s liquidity management system, which has been in place since 2017 to maintain a predictable supply of tokens.
Each month, Ripple releases this amount of XRP from temporarily locked tokens, typically relocking 70-80%. Only 200-300 million XRP are used for operational needs, institutional sales, or ecosystem support. This process is fully transparent and traceable on the blockchain, preventing sudden supply shocks.
Despite the high volume, analysts expect the release to have little direct impact on the price, as most tokens will be re-locked. However, the rate of XRP re-locking could be an indication of Ripple’s liquidity and sales strategy heading into 2026.
The release comes at the same time as Ripple’s increased institutional activity and Evernorth’s planned IPO, which will raise over $1 billion in capital and strengthen XRP’s presence among institutional investors.
