BlackRock has attracted attention after transferring 1,200 Ethereum, worth $48.6 million, to a reputable US exchange. Data shows that the transfer was made in four separate transactions.
This move comes as Ethereum, after a recent recovery, has again lost the psychological level of $4,000 and is trading in the $3,850 range.
Analysts have two views on BlackRock's purpose for these transfers; some see it as a prudent asset management move, while others suggest the possibility of profiting from the recent price increase.
The transactions were made from BlackRock’s Ethereum ETF wallet and bear similarities to the company’s recent Bitcoin transfers; two days ago, BlackRock transferred 1,500 Bitcoin, worth $160 million, from its Bitcoin ETF wallet.
Some experts believe these transfers may be solely for operational reasons or to meet ETF liquidity requirements and do not necessarily represent asset sales.
However, large asset transfers to exchanges are often seen as a sign of potential selling and market pressure, and have caught the attention of traders.
