The US government shutdown could end this week, paving the way for further progress on crypto regulations. The government shutdown, which began on October 1, is likely to end by the end of this week, White House economic adviser Kevin Hassett said. He added that once the government reopens, discussions on policies and regulations, including those related to the crypto market, can continue.
The government shutdown has already delayed decisions on several cryptocurrency ETFs, including Litecoin, Ripple, and Solana. Also, some crypto-related projects, such as Trump’s Strategic Bitcoin Reserve Plan, which was previously discussed with industry leaders and lawmakers, are waiting for the government to end.
Despite the optimism, some analyses indicate that the government shutdown is likely to last more than 30 days and continue until at least October 31.
Meanwhile, Democratic senators are planning to meet with representatives of Coinbase, Ripple, Circle, and other major crypto companies this week to advance the draft Crypto Markets Act, which could be a turning point in the return of the crypto market to prosperity.
