The companies and individuals sanctioned by the United States outside of Iran have no commercial relationship with me, nor have they ever had one. I am an Iranian businessman and have always acted in support of the interests of my company and my country.
That said, regional security and economic stability are shared interests of all nations. If Iranian businesses and entrepreneurs are prevented from engaging in legitimate trade across the region, the commercial interests and operations of American companies will inevitably face significant challenges as well.
Lasting security, stability, and economic prosperity can only be achieved when lawful and fair trade is accessible to all. Developments in the days ahead will demonstrate that regional economic security is a shared responsibility and cannot be ensured unilaterally.
